JINAN, China (2nd FIBA Asia U16 Championship for Women): Malaysia and Hong Kong completed the formalities of finishing on top of Level II competition with nonchalant ease and more were concerned in staying back to watch the India-Philippines Level I contest to scout their opponent in the Qualifying Play-offs scheduled for Saturday.
Malaysia were challenged by a spirted Sri Lanka, but carried too many guns to win 69-54, and will take on Philippines in the play-offs.
Hong Kong didn’t raise any sweat either in beating Macau 81-28 en route to their eventual play-off against India.
In between those two contests, Singapore used their speed to good effect to beat Uzbekistan 72-55.
