Korea used the pressure defense to good effect to break the offense rhythm of hosts and red-hot favorites China and then held fort with impressive gusto to eke out a 79-78 win in the first semifinal at a stunned Jinan Olympic Sports Center on Saturday.

Malaysia took their Level I Qualifying game against Philippines on Saturday with confidence and then were clinical in executing their plans and carved out a 66-55 win. The result earned Malaysia a promotion to Level of the competition for the 3rd FIBA Asia U16 Championship for Women to be held in 2013.
