MAS/PHI - Confident and clinical Malaysia earn promotion

Malaysia took their Level I Qualifying game against Philippines on Saturday with confidence and then were clinical in executing their plans and carved out a 66-55 win. The result earned Malaysia a promotion to Level of the competition for the 3rd FIBA Asia U16 Championship for Women to be held in 2013.

IND/PHI - Shireen leads India to first win in competition

Shireen Limaye finally struck form and returned a double-double to lead India to an 87-66 win to bag their first win in the competition. The win gave India the No 5 finish and play off against Hong Kong in the Qualifying section with Philippines facing the task of taking on Malaysia the No 1 team in Level II.

Under normal circumstances, the Philippines U16 women’s team would have been trying their hand in the Level II competition of the 2nd FIBA Asia U16 Championship for Women in Jinan, but a combination of factors that affected a fellow SEABA team has put the Filipino girls among the elite Level I.
