MAS/PHI - Confident and clinical Malaysia earn promotion

Malaysia took their Level I Qualifying game against Philippines on Saturday with confidence and then were clinical in executing their plans and carved out a 66-55 win. The result earned Malaysia a promotion to Level of the competition for the 3rd FIBA Asia U16 Championship for Women to be held in 2013.

Malaysia and Hong Kong completed the formalities of finishing on top of Level II competition with nonchalant ease and more were concerned in staying back to watch the India-Philippines Level I contest to scout their opponent in the Qualifying Play-offs scheduled for Saturday.

Malaysia held off fellow SEABA team Singapore’s feisty challenge and won 54-49 on Wednesday for their fourth win in as many games to assure themselves of a top-two finish in Level II in the process a place in the play-offs.
