India began the game with caution, but took charge of the proceedings early on and then grew in confidence as the game progressed to roll over Hong Kong 81-51 in the Level I Qualifying Games on Saturday.

IND/PHI - Shireen leads India to first win in competition

Shireen Limaye finally struck form and returned a double-double to lead India to an 87-66 win to bag their first win in the competition. The win gave India the No 5 finish and play off against Hong Kong in the Qualifying section with Philippines facing the task of taking on Malaysia the No 1 team in Level II.

Chihiro Hagio opened the scoring the game in a brisk manner and a 12-2 run to close the first quarter propelled them further and Japan needed brooked no challenge from India in posting their second win in as many days in Level I with a 94-45 result on Monday.

Korea played footsie with India in the initial stages, but took charge of the proceedings early on and rolled on to post a 85-57 win against an enthusiastic, but error-prone India to open the proceedings in Level I competition on Sunday.
